How much does solar cost?

A common misconception is that installing solar panels will break the bank when in reality solar panels have decreased 9x in cost since 2006. The primary driver of declining solar costs is technological improvements in the hardware of solar panels and solar inverters. Not only that but solar sales have increased dramatically in the last few years and it’s estimated that over one million homes in the United States are powered by solar panels.

Manufacturing solar panels has become much more efficient and every year it’s becoming more affordable to install solar panels. In 2016, solar officially became cheaper than traditional, carbon-based fuel sources in several countries. Overall, the more popular solar becomes, the more cost effective it becomes for the average household.

An average residential 5kW solar system costs between $3-$5/watt according to the CSE, but the cost of your solar system will really depend on the size and how much electricity you want to generate for your home or business.

At Blossom Solar we want to make solar a realistic option for everyone with an average cost of $2.50/watt. In order to do this we lower our overhead costs and eliminate hidden fees while maintaining the quality of our work, supplies, and always putting our customers first.
