Do solar panels help the environment?

Solar panels take clean, pure energy from the sun and convert it into electricity to heat your home, charge your computers, and power your lights. The electricity produced from these panels also yield no emissions, greenhouse gases, or fossil fuels. The traditional energy we use when we pay our utility bills from the city is sourced from fossil fuels like natural gas or coal. These resources are then burned in order to create the electricity we need to power our homes but end up emitting very harmful gases in the process. These fumes and gases are one of the primary causes of global climate change. These resources are also finite and will eventually run out.

Solar panels are a primary example of renewable energy. These alternate forms of energy not only help the environment but also aid in improving public health by replacing coal and natural gas plants that are key creators of air and water pollution which humans are subjected to everyday.

Solar panels are also durable and much more reliable than traditional energy sources. These panels will work in a heat wave or drought while fossil fuels require large quantities of water for cooling. This puts a strain on the world’s water supply and also won’t pollute our water resource.
